Here's everything I did while in Toronto

Before I start however I just wanna give a disclaimer that some of these items are on the pricier side and that my and my boyfriend were celebrating our 5 year anniversary so just keep that in mind haha. I will try to keep this as simple and concise as I can while adding in some reviews.

Day 1

We arrived around 2pm so the first thing we did was get to the hotel One King West, drop off our things, shower and change because we had made plans for dinner at Bosk in the Shangri-La hotel at 5pm. The restaurant was beautiful and something different so if I were to review I would break it up into a couple of different categories because personally I account for more than just the taste of the food.

Ambiance & Interior Design: 8/10

Service: 8/10

Food: 7/10

As an interior design and architecture nerd I would say the restaurant theme took from east asian decor just like the Shangri-La hotel itself which is fitting. It is pretty modern but nothing spectacular in my books hence the score. The service was a bit slow considering it was empty when we went which is why I rated it an 8 but the staff were really kind. Food wise there wasn't a whole lot of options for me which I am used to in fine dining settings, I ended up going for a pasta which was good but not the most exceedingly tasty thing I have ever had. To summarize I would still recommend this restaurant :)

We planned this really well so we were able to go to our evening plans without having to rush. In the evening we went to see Romeo and Juliet the ballet at the Four Seasons Centre for Performing arts. I really loved this performance, it was actually my first ballet so I can't critique in the eyes of a seasoned Patron of the arts but my bf didn't even watch Romeo and Juliet and he liked it so that should say something. It was also super nice that it's a 2 minute walk away from the Bosk Restaurant.

Day 2

We grabbed a quick breakfast from our hotel lobby mostly because I am not a morning person and there's no way I would have been able to get breakfast before our first activity of the day which was sailing.

We booked a sailing experience with Airbnb and our guide was wonderful, here is Alexander's page. The sailing option is not currently up but that may be due to his scheduling, I recommend sending him a message because he's pretty easy going. This was amazing and so peaceful , it's strange to think it was in Toronto because there was so much nature. We booked for 7:00am to 8:00am

After sailing we had an afternoon tea at 12:30pm, at the Shangri-La hotel which was lovely and after having trying many different afternoon teas across the country I can say they all start blending in taste wise but the actual setting was beautiful.

Then we went for a Harbourfront photoshoot and lastly we went to Don Alfonso, the first Michelin star restaurant I have ever been to. The actual restaurant was breathtaking, gorgeous waterfront views and city views. The service was 10/10, food was very unique and despite being a picky eater I loved it all. It is definitely up there in price but if you are celebrating something special I think it's worth it.

Day 3

I slept in a little and ended up going to Ripley's aquarium at 11am which is later than when we wanted to go. Although it was a cool experience I wouldn't do it again because it was incredibly overcrowded and claustrophobic. We went on a Monday which you would think would be slow because everyone would be at work but no. It was 99% big families, screaming kids and too much stimulation for me personally.

We also quickly checked out Osgoode Hall because it was on the way and it's a beautiful building.

The last thing we did this day was grab lunch at the RH cafe at Yorkdale mall. I always plan a shopping day and it just worked out that there was a reformation hardware which is one of my favourite places to look for home decor ideas.

Day 4

The jet lag was catching up this day so I grabbed breakfast at the hotel cafe, Daily Ritual. Otherwise I spent the day catching up on emails and watching Hannah Montana in bed.

Lastly, I had a catch up dinner with a friend who also happened to be in Toronto at an Italian restaurant, Oretta.

Day 5

We were flying out in the evening this day so we had a really chill day exploring the Toronto Islands. We walked around Ward's Island, Centre Island and Hanlan's Point. It was a really relaxing day minus the airport delays we experienced later.
