Crisp air, hot drinks and sweater weather— can you think of anything better?
Here are 7 cozy autumn things to do this fall.
Pumpkin Pic(k)s
One of my favourite things to do in the fall is pumpkin picking. Sure you could grab one at the supermarket but there is something special about going to a pumpkin patch or fall fair that gets you in the fall mood.
Calgary Farmyard is a great place to pick pumpkins and take pics too. After you have picked the perfect pumpkin (try saying that three times fast), you can carve it too.
Picture Perfect
I promise the other activities are not photo related but also a tradition I have every year is to take cute fall foliage photos. It memorializes that year as something unique and special and I get to look back at all the previous years.
It really is just such a nostalgic and wonderful thing to do. As an added bonus it is definitely confidence boosting too.
Bring the outside in
When it comes to fall time, you just have to get some foliage and fall items in your home. I am the self-proclaimed queen of decorating for the different seasons. I have been decorating seasonally since I was in high school and it really gets you excited for all the new seasons.
For anyone with a budget I will say I started off decorating with dollar store items and you really can find nice things anywhere. If you want a blog post about how to decorate for different seasons please leave it in the comments!
Fall Movies & TV shows
The first leaf hits the ground and the first thing I do is get my autumn movie and tv show lists out. My go to comfort shows always include Friends and Gilmore Girls, and for a good reason. The foliage, the seasonality, and the timeless friendships are sure to make you feel that warm fuzzy feeling. For more tv and movie recommendations you can check out my complete list of fall recommendations.
Pumpkin Spice Season
Nothing like baking to help set the mood for the season. Whether you're loading up on pumpkin spice, making pies, cookies, or gingerbread, you're sure to make the entire home smell amazing. Baking during the fall and winter are like swimming in the summer, doesn't feel like fall without it. Be sure to check out more of my recipes for fall baking ideas!
Sunflower Fields
Last, but not least if you are lucky enough to have a sunflower field near you I would highly recommend checking them out. It makes for a great photo op but also they normally have areas where you can pick fresh foliage, flowers and vegetables.
If you're in Calgary, Bowden Sunflower fields are gorgeous and they also have a petting zoo!
Happy Fall Y'all!
